Lawyers
Our lawyers are dual qualified with a technical qualification in construction or engineering and are able to bring to the project unique skills. Collectively individual lawyers have extensive knowledge and experience in:
- Drafting; terms and conditions of contracts, warranties and professional appointments.
- Contentious matters arising from breach of contract or duty of care.
- Dispute resolution in forums of adjudication, arbitration, TCC, mediation and expert determination.
Our lawyers are practising barristers, adjudicators, chartered arbitrators and mediators and are on professional panels of and/or members of CIArb, TECBAR, IChemE, CEDR, TeCSA, CIOB and LCIA.
We understand that construction claims are complex requiring in-depth knowledge of the contract documents, legal obligations and the factual matrix surrounding the claim. Our lawyers have a thorough understanding of standard and bespoke contracts and the documents which often accompany them such as programmes, specifications, warranties and the like. Accordingly they are equipped to assimilate voluminous and complex information proficiently whilst quickly distilling the issues.
At Blinch we understand that it is only when you are appraised of all the risks, liabilities and obligations under the prevailing circumstances of the contract that you are able to make an informed decision as to the way forward so as save relationships and avoid unnecessary costs and expense in a potential dispute.
